Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how FontNotes (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the FontNotes iOS app (the “App”) and the website at https://fontnotes.app (the “Website”).

1. Summary

Your notes and fonts stay on your devices. We do not collect, read, or upload the content of your notes, lists, checklists, folders, or imported fonts to our own servers.
Ads are served by Google AdMob. When ads are shown, Google may collect standard advertising and device data as described below.
Purchases are handled by Apple. The optional one-time “Remove Ads” purchase is processed by Apple’s App Store / StoreKit.
Optional iCloud sync uses Apple’s CloudKit; sync data is stored in your iCloud account under Apple’s encryption and policies.
The Website uses Google Analytics to understand visits and App Store link clicks. The Website has no FontNotes login.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not operate our own analytics, accounts, or note-content servers for the App. We do not collect:

The text or styling of your notes
Imported or downloaded font files (beyond local storage on your device)
Your name, email, or account credentials for FontNotes (the App has no FontNotes login)

3. Information Processed by Third Parties

3.1 Google AdMob (advertising)

If you have not purchased “Remove Ads,” the App shows ads via Google AdMob. Google may collect and process data such as:

Device and advertising identifiers (for example, Identifier for Advertisers where applicable)
IP address and approximate location derived from IP
Device type, OS version, and app identifiers
Ad interaction and performance data (impressions, clicks)

FontNotes does not currently request Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission. Ads are therefore served under Google’s non-personalized / limited tracking rules where required by platform and regional requirements.

3.2 Consent (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, the App uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to obtain consent for ads where required before ads are requested. You can change your ads privacy choices later in the App under Settings → Legal → Privacy & Ads Consent when that option is available for your region.

3.3 Apple App Store / StoreKit (in-app purchases)

The one-time non-consumable “Remove Ads” product is sold through Apple. Apple processes payment, receipt, and purchase status. We receive only what StoreKit provides to unlock the entitlement (for example, that you own the product). We do not receive your full payment card details.

3.4 Apple iCloud / CloudKit (optional backup)

If you enable iCloud backup in Settings, your notes sync via Apple CloudKit using your Apple ID. That data is stored and encrypted according to Apple’s iCloud / CloudKit practices. We do not operate a separate cloud copy of your notes outside Apple’s services.

3.5 Third-party font websites

The App can open third-party sites (for example DaFont, 1001 Fonts, Google Fonts) in an in-app browser so you can download fonts. Those sites have their own privacy practices. Font files you download are stored locally on your device.

4. Website (fontnotes.app)

The Website at https://fontnotes.app uses Google Analytics to collect standard usage data such as:

Pages viewed and approximate location derived from IP
Device and browser information
Referrer / traffic source information
Clicks on App Store download links

The Website does not offer a FontNotes account or login. Google processes this data under its own policies.

5. How We Use Information

Within the App itself, local data (notes, fonts, preferences, App Lock settings) is used only to provide FontNotes features on your device(s). Third-party SDKs (AdMob) and Apple services (StoreKit, CloudKit) use data as described in their policies and as needed to show ads, process purchases, or sync backups. On the Website, analytics data is used to understand traffic and improve the site.

6. Children’s Privacy

FontNotes is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information through contact email or other channels, please contact us at fontnotes@momentswithfriends.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

7. Data Retention

On-device data: Remains until you delete it, uninstall the App, or clear related storage.
iCloud: Retained according to your Apple ID / iCloud settings and Apple’s policies.
Ad, purchase, and Website analytics data: Retained by Google and Apple according to their respective policies.

8. Your Choices

Remove ads: Purchase the one-time “Remove Ads” product to stop AdMob ad requests in the App.
Ads consent (EEA/UK/CH): Use Settings → Legal → Privacy & Ads Consent when shown.
iCloud: Turn off iCloud backup in Settings; manage iCloud data in iOS Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud.
Website analytics: You can use browser settings or extensions that limit analytics cookies and scripts.

9. International Users

If you use the App or Website from outside your home country, data processed by Apple or Google may be transferred to and processed in other countries where those companies operate, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App or Website after an update means you accept the revised policy.
